The Grand Conjuration Ver 1 by Opeth Opeth - The Grand Conjuration ver 1 bass tab Band:Opeth Album:Ghost Reveries Song:The Grand Conjuration G D A D Drop D tuning I have spent lots of time working on this tab, and it's a very good tab. So enjoy. A lot of things that he does is hard to hear, but if you really listen hard enough you can hear it. The speakers that I used to figure some of the little things out, you could hear the bass perfectly, and I just saw them live on Feb. 15 (2006,) so this is VERY accurate. Once again, enjoy!:) *=sticato note h=hammer on p=pull off S=slap P=pop /=slide up =slide down X=mute He uses distortion on parts of the song. I'll tell you when to turn it on and when to trn if off. Then play this riff (distortion off) [-----------------------] [-----------------------] [-----------------------] [X-X-1--X-X-0--3--0----0] This play this riff (distortion off) (well call it the A riff. It needs a name for later on, you'll see why.) [---------------------------------------------] [---------------------------------------------] [---------------------------------------------] [7-7-7-8-7--7-10p7-8p7--7-7-7-8-7--7-10p7-12p7]repeat 7 times Then play this riff when the screaming comes back in. (distortion off) [-----------------------] [-----------------------]Repeat 8 times [-----------------------] It's something like this. It's very hard to tell [1-0-0-0h1-0h1h2-0h1h2h3] what it's doing this part. Repeat Riff A During the part that sounds like the Intro(distortion off) [---------------------------------------] [---------------------------------------] [---------------------------------------] [0/12-0-0-0/12-0-0---0-0/12-0-0-0/12-0-0] [----------------------------------------] Play these two riffs once. [----------------------------------------] [----------------------------------------] [0-0/12-0-0-0/12-0-0---0*-0*-0*-0/12-12] [-------------------------------------------] [-------------------------------------------] [-------------------------------------------] [0/12-0-0-0/12-0-0---0-0-0-0/12-0-0-0/12-0-0] [--------------------------------------------]Then play these two riffs 3 times. [--------------------------------------------] [--------------------------------------------] [0-0-0-0/12-0-0-0/12-0-0---0*-0*-0*-0/12-12] Then play this riff [--------------------------------] [--------------------------------] [--------------------------------] [0*-0*-0/12-12--0*-0*-0/12-12] Then repeat the Main Riff once (distortion off) Repeat Verse (distortion on) Then play the Main Riff with distortion on from the 7:44 point to the 8:38 point. When it gets heavy again, and the guitars are playing the main riff, the bass is doing something different, but it's kinda hard ot hear, so listen closly. (I don't won't a bad rating just because somebody here isn't able to hear it for some reason.) It's hard to figure it out, but it's something like this. [---------------------] [---------------------] [---------------------] [8-7-7-8-7--7-8-7-10-7] Then play the Main Riff without distortion until the song is over. Although you do play this one riff a couple of times towards the end. [---------------------------------------------------------] [---------------------------------------------------------] [---------------------------------------------------------] [1-0-4---5-4-7---12-10-6---3-0-0-4-0-0-5-0-0-1/13-13-12-12] Thank God I'm finally done with this tab.
